Alana is a Registered Psychologist (7322) with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member of the Psychologist Association of Alberta (PAA). In her practice, Alana wants to ensure every individual is cared for while ensuring their needs are being met. Additionally, she hopes to create a safe and compassionate environment while working towards improvement with her clients. She views counselling as an opportunity to explore and navigate challenges, while working collaboratively with the client to help them overcome obstacles. Alana utilizes an integrative approach to counselling as she believes there isn’t just one approach that can help a client. She believes it’s important to account for the client as an individual and use elements from different approaches to best support them. However, Alana does enjoy the use of Attachment Based Therapy, S.A.F.E Eye Movement De-Sensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Solution-Focused. A powerful tool Alana believes can help promote relationship development, communication, and attendance is humor. She values having a sense of humor, as humor can bring people together and changes how we feel. Where appropriate, it can also help us change how we perceive events. Alana has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout her career. Each demographic presented a new challenge, which developed creativity, problem-solving skills, and effective decision-making. In her spare time, Alana enjoys traveling, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.

My role is to help you slow down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and find ways to cope that feel doable and lasting. I work with children (6+), teens, adults, and parents navigating stress, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and family conflict. With kids and teens, I often use art, creative expression, and play-based approaches to help them explore feelings and build coping tools in ways that feel natural. With adults, I draw from CBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support self-understanding and emotional healing.

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I work with children, youth, and adults—both neurotypical and neurodivergent, with a particular focus on supporting individuals with ADHD. My practice is trauma-informed, with an emphasis on navigating dual cultural identities, identity formation, and experiences of grief and loss. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)–based approaches, while tailoring my work to the unique needs of each client.

Central to my work is building a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space of safety, inclusion, and understanding where clients feel seen, valued, and supported as they navigate their healing journey.

In addition to my clinical work, I have volunteered with survivors of sexual assault and continue to serve with the Baba Nanak Trust Foundation, a community-led organization dedicated to making mental health services more accessible for South Asian populations. Outside of the therapy room, I am the author of two books exploring mental health in South Asian families, and I also enjoy boxing as a way to stay grounded and balanced.
